Established in 1999 and split over two levels, Number 16 is a small and cosy award-winning restaurant residing in the heart of Glasgow’s West End. Run by a tight- knit, experienced and dedicated team, we are proud to bring fresh and unusual ideas to modern Scottish cooking. From the lunch menu there’s braised ox cheek, sticky and glossy. Vegetables are integrated thoughtfully: roasted broccoli, cylinders of golden carrot and parsnip. The wine list provides interest and, like the cooking, represents good value. For dessert the title “Turkish Delight” seems ordinary but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Soft nougat riven with toasted pistachio, cubes of baby-pink, floaty rosewater marshmallow, squares of white chocolate mousse, a quenelle of dark chocolate ganache, sugar-dusted blood orange jelly, delicious. The ever- changing menu features imaginative, balanced flavours and a commitment to using seasonal produce. The team strive to make each dining experience a relaxing, unique and memorable one for every customer.
